With more episodes and new technical demands, this production brought fresh creative and logistical challenges. Filming on location gave us dynamic backdrops but also unpredictable elements: shifting light, interruptions and even live military training near Murlough Beach and the woods. The sudden gunfire made recording difficult. We had to time our shots between bursts and adjust on the fly.

After filming we moved into post‑production, where more challenges awaited. Compositing visual effects for puppets required precise tracking and frame‑by‑frame animation of eyelids. This painstaking work added subtle expression and made their interactions feel natural.

We added playful touches like animating Dec’s blinking eyes inside felt binocular lenses for humour. These details took time but brought extra personality to the puppets, enhancing the storytelling without losing the handmade charm.
